Things were looking up for the Boilermakers early
in the first quarter as the Homecoming crowd was
energized when Akeem Hunt was able to move
the pile several yards before the whistle blew.
Two plays later, Hunt was on the receiving end of
a 44-yard scoring pass from Rob Henry, giving the
hosts their lone lead of the day.
We have the above performances broken down by
individuals in And Finally, beginning on Page 28.
Jeff George was the last true freshman quarterback to win in his
first start back in 1986. Since then, it has been five straight Purdue
defeats.
"I don't even look like I play football. I kind of look like
some normal kid, kind of fat, maybe. People would say
I'm a tall eighth-grader. Before (I started playing) everyone was like, 'Oh, you play football?'"
