WHO
WILL
REIGN?
The 2016 UL International Crown,
a biennial team match-play event
featuring the top eight golfing countries
and 32 of the top female golfers in the
world, will take place at the prestigious
Merit Club in Gurnee, Illinois.
Competition between the countries
will take place over four days from
July 21-24. It will feature three days
of four-ball competition and one day
of singles matches on Sunday. Five
of the eight countries will advance to
the Sunday singles matches based on
the outcome of the four-ball matches
contested Thursday through Saturday.
In 2014, Spain was crowned the
event's first champion as the team of
Beatriz Recari, Azahara Munoz, Belen
Mozo, and Carlota Ciganda bested
seven of the other top golf nations
in the world en route to the crown.
"We are looking forward to hosting
the 2016 UL International Crown at
the Merit Club," said UL CEO Keith
Williams. "Our goal as title sponsor
is to keep growing the stature of this
one-of-a-kind international event
and the Merit Club is a prestigious
and beautiful golf course right in our
backyard. We are interested in seeing
which country will reign in 2016."
