48 / MARCH.APRIL.2017 USICERINKS.COM u.s. ice rinks news U.S. Ice Rinks Staff Busy Supporting Industry Events in 2017 U.S. Figure Skating In January John Monteleone served as an ice technician for the Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. In February, Monteleone served again as an ice technician for the U.S. Figure Skating Synchronized Skating Championship held at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill. He will also be supporting the ice operations for the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championship in early April at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo. U.S. Ice Rinks set to launch new website The United States Ice Rink Association will be launching a new organization website in mid-March. This new website will combine our three current websites (starrinks.com; narce.com; rinkmagazine.com) in to one site usicerinks. com. The new website will feature an updated "Member Only Resource" section which will include a new member discussion forum, RINK Magazine digital issue archive, new informational and instructional videos, and numerous sample forms, documents, policies and procedures. Members will be able to access these resources by logging into the website using their membership profile login. Regional Rink Management Associations In late April, U.S. Ice Rink staff will be attending the Wisconsin Ice Arena Management Association (WIAMA) and the Northeast Ice Skating Managers Association (NEISMA) annual spring conferences. During the WIAMA conference, our staff will be leading various educational breakout sessions throughout the event. U.S. Ice Rink staff will then travel to Massachusetts to conduct a Human Resource Management (HRM) course for NEISMA members during their conference. This was the 11th year that U.S. Ice Rinks staff has supported ice operations component of this event.
