The Grizzly Gulch, set in the era of August 8, 1888, is a mine town which offers guests a runaway adventure, away from its mischievous grizzly bears. "With Grizzly Gulch, the Resort will be able to further enhance guest enjoyment, while providing corporate guests with another wonderful era for immersive Wild West-style experience," said Terruce Wang, vice-president, sales and distribution marketing, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. The main attraction of the town is the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. Carrying up to 24 persons per ride, the high-speed, multidirectional terrain- style coasters transport you through the beautiful wilderness landscape, following through the story of the Grizzly Gulch, moving up and down, forward and backward, splashing through geyser springs and at times simultaneously running on adjacent tracks to other cars bringing you the thrills. The Grizzly Gulch also features friends such as Disney's friendliest grizzly bears, Koda and Kenai, Mickey, Minnie and Chip n' Dale who eagerly wait to greet you. Aside from these, six other attractions offer photo opportunities, in line with the town's identity. The Welcome Wagon Show is a musical performance to introduce you to the Grizzly Gulch town while the Assay Offi ce feature's the town's largest gold nugget, steps away from the Jail House where you can capture yourself as an outlaw. And when hunger strikes, pop by the Lucky Nugget Saloon for some f ish and chips or shrimps and salads before getting your hands on some Bear Necessities as a souvenir for those back home. If the heat gets to you, worry not, because the Geyser Gulch is readily available for you to cool down and throw some "shoots" at your unsuspecting friends. The Grizzly Gulch is part of the three themed parks that are under the Resort's US$460 million multi-year expansion plan. Opened to the public on July 14, 2012, it follows the Toy Story Land, which was launched in November last year, inspired by the Disney*Pixar blockbuster movie. The third themed area, Mystic Point, is scheduled for yet another magical journey, in 2013. F or more in fo rmat i on on t h e Grizzly Gulch adventure, visi t: www. hongkongdisneyland.com. Page 10
