SCORE Continues Momentum 2018 delivers yet another landmark occasion in the SCORE World Desert Championship series with the recognition and reflection of what is now “Desert Racing’s” most recognized class. Initiated in 1994, Rob MacCachren, was making his mark even back in these early days with winning the first Trophy Truck Class Championship in that year’s newly introduced Trophy Truck Series. The SCORE Tecate Trophy Truck series was set up as an actual separate class and was not integrated into the actual SCORE Race series as a class until later. This “unlimited” class continues to introduce all forms of technology to the world of off-road motorsports from suspension, chassis, drivetrain, tires, safety equipment and electronics as the most capable and fastest class in off-road. We look at the technology advancements and highlights of this class that also made legends of many top racers, teams, products, and sponsors that supported these tremendous efforts. The SCORE World Desert Championship is headed back to Tijuana in September for the Tijuana 22nd SCORE Desert Challenge and we were able to present a special feature entitled “The Tijuana You Should Know.” This section provides a great look at what this transformed city now has to offer along with the rich history of this major metropolitan area, that now hosts one of SCORE’s most unique races.
