12 Managing COVID Restrictions Less smooth, of course, has been a year affected by COVID-19 restrictions. Like most facilities across the country, CFC Park had to shut down in the early stages of the pandemic. Unlike CFC Arena, however, the Park has had the advantage of outdoor space. "We were doing all outside rentals" when the fieldhouse was shut down, Christine says. Even with outdoor activities, she and her team instituted safety measures to keep customers safe. "We limited spectators to one per player, and we want them to wear masks. We created a 30-minute buffer between groups." soccer groups in the summer. Christine says the space sees nearly constant use. "This summer and fall, the outdoor fields were booked from 7:30 or 8:00 AM up until dark." Her goal over the next five years is to keep CFC Park as one of the top facilities in the area. One way she thinks she can accomplish that is to keep the outdoor fields available after dusk. "We have the possibility of the town letting us put in lights – If we get electricity out there, we'll be booming until 9:00 or 10:00 PM." She's also branching out the sports programming. With winter here and the facility switching to the new season's programming, Christine is excited to bring in football. "I partnered with NFL Flag football. That's a new program I've never personally dealt with, but so far it's been pretty easy and smooth."
