UNSTOPPABLE MONTOYA Pro Moto 30 Racer Jano Montoya Is Determined To Win A Championship By Dan Sanchez Photos By Get Some Photo After losing the 2021 Championship in SCORE Pro Moto 30, Jano Montoya was not going to let the 2022 season championship get away again. At the start of the season, Montoya selected a group of very experienced and talented riders that included Bryce Staffron, David Zarate, and Kyle Tichenor, and stayed with them all season long. The result has been a perfect season for the 325x team, winning every race so far. At the start of the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels, Montoya was ready and had pre-run the course. “The course is difficult but perhaps the most challenging section is the area from Valle Trinidad to the Pacific Ocean,” said Montoya before the start. “In that area, there are lots of ruts and rocks, but there is also some tough competition. Regardless, our goal is to win the championship and we will do whatever it takes to make that happen.” Montoya and the 325x team ran at their pace and made the entire course seem like a fun day of riding, one in which they finished first to add to their three-race winning streak this season. “We had a very clean race and no problems with the bike,” said Montoya at the finish. “We only changed a tire, and that was to ensure it wouldn’t give us any problems later on the course. I started and handed the bike off to Bryce Staffron, who then handed it off to David Zarate and then to Kyle Tichenor who drove it in for the win. Now we are set to start first in class at the SCORE Baja 1000 and we’re excited we’re closer to our goal of winning back the championship.” SJ
