Page | 1 (Updated August 8, 2024) Hands-On Learning | Getting the Most Mileage Out of Master Loads Question: What are Master Loads and why would I want to use them? Answer: A Master Load in Latitude typically represents a physical pallet of picked inventory collectively destined for the same location or an organized collection of loads. Once a Master Load is built and closed, it may then either be shipped directly, shipped on a route or loaded onto a truck and shipped on a truck. When a Master Load is shipped via any of these methods it creates a Route Shipment. Route Shipments offer a high-visibility method of shipping one or more orders at a time in a controlled and organized manner. Truck Loading is a feature that offers the ability to manage the truck loading process by helping to efficiently load a truck via the RF handheld terminal. Master Loads have a restriction class, which dictates which orders may be staged to it. This can be used for order consolidation and keeping shipments segregated and organized. Each Master Load must be limited to orders that have the same route and may further be restricted by Customer, Stop or Ship To. Each Master Load can be closed and/or loaded, which provides opportunities to print additional labels and reports related to the Master Load.
