at the lake or in the car on the way to
or from the lake talking about boats
and barges and everything in between
with my grandfather."
Besides eating great meals made
by his mother Donna, Kent and his
friends enjoy jumping off the side of
the houseboat as they toss a ball back
and forth to each other—daring the
next one to jump a little bit farther
each time.
On this water system, long distance
cruises are not only a possibility, but
a regular adventure on this house-
boat. One of Kent's favorite activities
is to cruise down to Nashville with his
friends, family, customers or industry
friends.
The future looks promising for Kent
as he continues in the path that was
set generations before him. HFL owns
27 inland tank barges of different sizes
and configurations, but it's arguably
his houseboat by Majestic Yachts that
he enjoys talking about the most. And
it's the people at the Columbia, Ky.-
based company that have made the
difference.
"Jim keeps things running. Mitchell
is the guy that can design anything.
Bill maps out a plan and keeps things
organized and Faye single handily can
make or find whatever you can dream
up," says Kent. "They also have some
very talented guys out in the shop who
were great to work with."
