84 MIAMI LIVING Dream brings an eclectic nightclub experience to Miami Beach with two floors and three distinct rooms that couple vintage style with sophisticated French influences, similar to a modern-day Moulin Rouge. This 8,000-square-foot nightlife destination, boasts a pulsating 20,000 watt sound system that'll ensure you feel every beat, while taking in the visuals of Dream's state-of-the- art Elation technology lighting scheme. "Dream is really more of a production club … it's about the experience, from our variety of performances and events to our amazing lighting and sound systems," Christopher McCoy, marketing director at Dream, explains. "There is a real intimate, warm atmosphere to the club that's not found at a lot of the commercialized venues in Miami." Dream is the endeavor of owner Kevin Hardy, nine-year NFL linebacker, including five years with Florida's own Jacksonville Jaguars. The club's main room features a combination of design and technology, bringing to life a unique ambiance. Crimson fleur-de-lis panels span the walls of the room and Brazilian zebra-wood wraps the DJ booth, while a massive Hollywood Squares-like structure houses dancing boxes for the beautiful Dream dancers. Adjacent to the main room you'll find the "Nugget Room," named after the gold nugget cushions adorning the room throughout. This discreet space, featuring a full bar, often occupies large groups or events seeking more exclusive accommodations. Upstairs, Dream's "Candle Room" reflects a contemporary French chateau with rose- colored walls accented by pink chandeliers and black candelabras. Overlooking the main floor, the Candle Room features 10 tables for bottle service, a fully stocked bar, and private bathroom facilities for VIPs to conveniently avoid the bustle of the main floor. The versatility of Dream is impressive with successfully catering to a wide array of audiences through a diverse offering of top- tier talent across the board. The club hosts a number of DJs, from the likes of Jonather Peters and George Acosta to the musical stylings of Kaskade and Bad Boy Bill. While Dream's primary music offerings include everything from top 40 and dance to house and techno, its flexibility shines on Saturday nights where it's home to one of the most respected urban A-list hip hop parties in Miami. Coined "Eye Candy," Saturday nights showcase the hip hop talents of DJ LSone. Eye Candy has become the hip hop party of choice for a number of celebrities and South Beach elites, including Lebron James, Busta Rhymes, Russell Simmons, Lil John, Larry Johnson, Dwayne Wade, and many more. "Eye Candy is a one of Dream's great events, and demonstrates the adaptability of the venue to cater to assorted crowds," McCoy continues. "It's what motivated me to introduce 'The Chat Noir Club,' my interactive cabaret night on Mondays, to further capture a broader audience at Dream. It's unlike anything Miami has seen before." Monday's Chat Noir Club has earned rave reviews for Dream, since its introduction to South Beach in early 2008. This vaudeville- style show features theatrical circus acts and a neo-burlesque cabaret presented by Miami's traveling performance troupe, Circ X. When the doors open at 10 p.m., you may be greeted by a stilt walker or any number of interacting performers in elaborate cirque garb. The newest technologies in L.E.D. lighting and electroluminescent wiring set the stage for fire breathers, knife jugglers, music performances, and drag shows, all known to accompany this show. Starting at 11 p.m., The Chat Noir Club includes three acts with two intermissions, featuring DJ Shannon mixing a mash up of rock, hip hop, and house tracks. Its second intermission includes an interactive pole- dancing competition, where audiences are encouraged to partake by viewing online and voting. The Chat Noir Club has become a staple in Miami sure to leave you entertained. Located at 1532 Washington Ave., Dream is an experience not to be missed.
