14 MODSTOCK 2009 It's no secret that money is tight for a lot of sledders these days. For many, that means making your snowmobile last another season. You may have to get another year out of your pony but that doesn't mean you have to leave it the way it is for the upcoming winter. You can pump up the horsepower, give it a new look, make it ride a whole lot smoother or mod your machine any way you can think of—or a combi- nation of some or all of the above. And we're here to help. The sole reason we publish Mod-Stock Competition year after year is to showcase what the aftermarket industry has to offer sleds of all shapes and sizes. Even in what experts are calling a "down economy," that means a whole stack 'o stuff. Sledders who have followed (and anticipate) Mod-Stock every year should know up front that we've gone from two issues of the publica- tion down to one (not even we're immune from the slow economy). But the good news is we are publishing this issue and we've crammed as many products in the following pages as we possibly could. And while we've had to pare down the exten- sive categories we have covered in the past, we're still bringing you the heart of the market: engines, clutching, pipes/silencers, suspension and chassis. Then there's the darn-near-all-inclusive category of miscellaneous. The products you'll find in the following pages are for sledders of all disciplines, regardless of whether you ride the frozen lakes and trails in the flatlands of the Midwest or the rolling hills of the East or the steep and deep in the moun- tains of the West. If you're lucky enough to find something that you think you've just got to have for your sled, then you can either browse that company's website or dial them up on the phone because that information is included with each product. Regardless of whether this is your year to buy one or a number of new goodies for your sled, we hope you enjoy looking at all the new products in Mod-Stock.
