FOOTBALL RECRUITING
IN THE FOLD
The previous Michigan coaching
staff gave Harbaugh and Co. an as-
sist in putting together the 2016 class.
Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne quar-
terback Messiah deWeaver decom-
mitted following the departure of
Brady Hoke, but two players remain
pledged to the Wolverines.
OL ERIK SWENSON
6-5, 300 pounds
Downers Grove (Ill.) South
Four stars, No. 2 prospect in Illinois, and
No. 8 offensive tackle and
No. 82 overall player na-
tionally
Swenson committed
to Michigan on Nov. 25,
2013. He is a long, ath-
letic tackle who excels in
pass blocking and is a punishing finisher
in run blocking. He is likely to stay at
tackle (especially if he grows to his dad's
6-7 height), but could also slot inside.
LB DELE' HARDING
6-1, 232 pounds
Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy
Four stars, No. 7 prospect in Maryland,
and No. 8 inside linebacker and No. 228
overall player nationally
Harding committed
to Michigan on Oct. 31,
2014. He is a throwback
middle linebacker, a
stout run defender who
plays his best inside the
box. He does have ability in pass cover-
age thanks to plenty of experience in
seven-on-seven play, but it's not the
focus of his game. ❏
