"It's our best opportunity to connect our donors with our mission," says Bryant. The Fund's 2014 event included speakers from 19 awarded agencies; the keynote speaker, well-known criminal justice reform advocate and Orange is the New Black author, Piper Kerman, drew over 300 support- ers. This year, the keynote speaker will be Robin Young of NPR's Here and Now program. In late April or early May of each year, the Fund holds a lighthearted Power of the Purse event, hosted by the Willowdale Estate at Brad- ley Palmer State Park, where new and recurring donors gather for an evening of raffles, cocktails, and community bonding. In addition, local female business owners can support The Women's Fund by joining the Women's Business Alliance, an organization of philan- thropic business owners who spread awareness and support The Women's Fund cause.
