The grass produces a fi ne-bladed, dense turf that recovers quickly from divots and sports- related wear. PremierPRO Bermudagrass is currently available for shipping throughout the United States through sod producers in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. "We can control the management and alleviate some of that off the grower," Walker said. The collaborative effort between growers, Sod Production Services, end-users and others led to the Team PremierPRO concept. It brings together world-recognized researchers, sod producers, superintendents and sports turf managers to share information about the grass. Premier Pro was obtained in 2014 from Turf Diagnostics Inc., owned by Engelke and Lehman. "Virginia had always been known more for her research in bent grass cool season grasses," Walker said.
