INSIGHTS | EVENT HIGHLIGHT 58 May-Jun 2017 meetings & conventions • mcmag-asia.com Made in Singapore Organiser: World Express Pte Ltd Event: Morinda China Incentive Trip Venue: Rasa Sentosa hotel, various locations in Singapore Date: November 3-7, 2016 Event Size: Over 150 attendees Email: Koh Eeling, director – MICE, World Express, eeling@worldexpress. com.sg Words Meetings & Conventions Asia Top left: Cultural visit to Kampong Glam; Above: Farewell dinner at Universal Studios Singapore. Despite the short time frame of four days, World Express pulled together an incentive itinerary that captured the best of the sunny island, making it truly a trip to remember. IN BRIEF Morinda China, an international health supplement company based in China, led over 150 of its distributors to Singapore on a four-night incentive trip aimed at showing them a unique experience. PROGRAMME & PLANNING The client wanted to create an exclusive, localised experience for the group, who were mostly first-time visitors to Singapore. With that in mind, every part of the programme – from welcome and table gifts, collaterals, to tours and dinners – became an opportunity to showcase Singapore's multi-faceted image. EXPERIENCE World Express prepared two surprises for the guests: the first, a chilli crab soft toy, which coincided with their first meal at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant; and the second, a 'Made-in-Singapore' welcome gift which was waiting for them at their hotel. The itinerary, led by a local guide, centered on 'must- sees' in Singapore with tours to the various cultural enclaves including Kampong Glam, Little India and Bugis Village. A fun element was added to the tour as guests were tasked to purchase a souvenir that best represents the specific cultural group within a given budget. The guests were later asked to present their efforts at the farewell dinner at Universal Studios Singapore. In addition, VIPs were given the opportunity to have a meal onboard a moving tram, Gourmet Safari, among nocturnal creatures at Night Safari Singapore. FEEDBACK The biggest compliment always comes when guests say that they do not want to leave just yet, because they enjoyed themselves immensely. Amidst hugs and goodbyes, World Express received promises that the guests will be back in Singapore soon, because there is still so much more to do and see! TALKING POINT The welcome and farewell dinners proved to be highlights. At the start, guests dined against the moving backdrop of more than 100,000 marine animals from over 800 species at Ocean Gallery in S.E.A Aquarium, Sentosa. To end the trip on a high note, a farewell dinner was arranged at Universal Studios Singapore. It was a fun affair as guests dined on New York Street, a replica of America's grandest city filled with impressive city skyline and illuminating neon lights.
