SIRO Course Hosts Wanted The United States Ice Rink Association is looking for locations to hold their Safe Ice Resurfacer Operations (SIRO) course in November and December. This one-day course is a cost-effective method for skating facilities to provide initial, standardized education to new and novice staff, that are required to op- erate their ice resurfacers. SIRO intro- duces workers to the ice resurfacer while enhancing the manufacturer's materials that arrived with the original purchase of the ice resurfacer. Safety is the main topic in the SIRO program and should be the top priority when educating staff for the ice resurfacer operation. For more information about hosting a SIRO course at your rink please contact John Monteleone at 719-538-1514 or johnm@usicerinks.com. CIT Class of 2014: It's time to recertify! Individuals who have been awarded the Certified Ice Techni- cian (CIT) profes- sional designation by the United States Ice Rink Association are required to recertify every five years from the year they originally achieved the CIT. In addition, CIT's must also renew their membership each year with the United States Ice Rink Association to maintain their CIT designation. Members can recertify in 2019 by suc- cessfully completing the written CIT Recertification Exam, offered at any U.S. Ice Rink Association Regional Training Program location. Additional locations are also available. Visit usicerinks.com for an up to date listing of locations. On- line self-study materials will be available to individuals that register to take the CIT Recertification exam. 2019 Regional Training Program information is available in the brochure included in this issue of RINK Magazine and online at usicerinks.com/education. For more information about CIT recertification options please contact John Monteleone at 719-538-1514 or johnm@usicerinks.com.
