Membership is trending toward another all-time high, the 20th annual North American Rink Conference & Expo event was the largest ever, and our Regional Training Programs have been well attended, with a few more courses being offered this fall. You can check out the remaining offerings starting on page 29. This issue of RINK includes a feature on the Greenheck Turner Community Center in Weston, Wisconsin. The facil- ity was originally built in 1997, and underwent a significant expansion com- pleted this August that included a new indoor fieldhouse amongst other ameni- ties. You can read more about this facility on page 22. With the school year back in full swing, families will be looking for activities for their kids and the Learn to Skate USA program is a great option. The article on page 40 includes information and best practices that will help make your group skating lesson program a great experience for everyone. Finally, the topic of hot-water or cold- water ice resurfacing continues to be debated within our industry. The article on page 36 addresses this issue head on and hopefully will prompt some of our readers to question whether cold- water flooding is really saving their rink enough money to justify the impact on ice quality. As always, I hope you enjoy this issue of RINK. P.S. Don't forget to mark your calendar: 2025 NARCE registration opens in early January! — Jeff Theiler, Chief Operating Officer, United States Ice Rink Association 2025 2025 SAVE THE DATE: NARCE is returning to Milwaukee May 13-16, 2025!
