SPRING 2025 PULLUSAMAGAZINE.COM 11 "This sport, and our team specifically, felt like I joined a family," Kirsten Feld added. "I've been shooting with most of the seniors since day one, and they feel like brothers to me." Eighth-graders Garret LeBotte and Eli Tassoul have emerged as key contributors. "Trap shooting is different," LeBotte said. "It's a mental sport where you have to look through the clay, and if you aren't locked in, you will mess up and throw your round." T h e t e a m i s w e l l s u p p o r t e d b y i t s community. "The Algoma trap team is a group of peo- ple who have each other's backs and will help each other in a heartbeat," LeBotte said. " We also have a great community that supports the team. Our team is run by volunteers, and they do it because they care about the next generation of trap shooters." The team's success would not be possible without the Black Ash Gun Club, which has supported Algoma's program from the start. In addition to providing a home range, the club helps cover target costs, making it easier for students to participate. "Our team is incredibly grateful for everything the club and its members do for us," Feld said. ✪ ALGOMA H.S.
