The attention to engineering design and testing in brutal SCORE Baja races, has
led to major performance developments on SXS vehicles. Many consider these
improvements a huge jump from Factory Polaris racing their Gen 1 vehicles last
year, to the new Gen 2 models. "Honestly, there isn't one major "a ha" that we
learned from the Gen 1 platform, said Scheuerell. "The Gen 2 design is just the sum
of hundreds of small tweaks that we learned from racing the Gen 1. The Pro R is an
incredibly sorted platform to start with, so we learned quickly what needed to be
updated for the demands of desert racing and applied them."
With the team's latest performance finishing eighth Overall at the 2025 SCORE
Baja 500, it's natural to think these vehicles will be getting faster and nimbler. "We
are continuing to refine and develop the Gen 2 platform with no plans to slow
down," said Scheuerell. "We're constantly testing, tuning, and making refinements
to enhance both speed and reliability. The best part? Since the Factory Team races
the exact same machines we sell, our RZR Pro R Factory customers ultimately
benefit from these ongoing improvements as updated parts and calibrations
become available
