Adrian Puente - Toyo: Toyo Tires offers a complete range of OPEN COUNTRY off-road tires for a wide range of off-road terrains, weather conditions, and driving experiences. Each tire is engineered to meet different levels of on and off-road capability. Choosing the right tire ultimately depends on the individual driver's specific needs and usage. The Toyo Open Country lineup includes the A/T III (all-terrain), R/T Trail (hybrid A/T), R/T Pro (hybrid M/T), and M/T (maximum traction). For most daily drivers, the A/T III delivers the ideal balance of on and off-road performance, comfort, and durability. However, drivers who seek a more aggressive tread pattern (vs. an A/T) and/or need off-road capability more frequently will benefit from choosing a hybrid or M/T option. For example, some drivers may need a little more off-road traction and/or aggressive tread pattern (vs. an A/T), but they still do a decent amount of highway driving. This is where our two hybrid options, the Open Country R/T Trail and R/T Pro, fit in. These hybrids retain important on-road benefits, such as ride comfort, road noise, and mileage warranties, while offering increasing levels of off-road capability. And while the R/T Pro is a professional grade hybrid M/T tire built for serious off-road enthusiasts, for those who seek a dedicated off-road tire the Open Country M/T is designed to deliver maximum traction and durability for the most extreme conditions. Sean Kleinshuster - Tensor: The DS tire was our first competition tread design it is more open in its tread to void ratio and performs well on softer surfaces such as sand or mud. DSR was our second competition tread design and intended to be better than the DS on hard pack surfaces and gravel/fire road type terrains. DSR has a higher tread to void ratio than DS as well as more biting edges on the tread elements which increases performance on the intended surfaces. Our latest tread design is our Regulator 2 tire which is an evolution of the DSR tread. Regulator 2 has slightly more void than DSR, more biting edges, and a deeper tread depth with all of them contributing to good mixed surface performance and longer wear.
