RACING, PRE-RUNNERS AND CARBON FIBER These are all items we find frequently in SCORE Off-Road Racing, and this issue, we decided to take a closer look. Our preview of the 7th SCORE Baja 400 showcases the importance of this third of four racing events, with an overview from SCORE's President Jose A. Grijalva. Our pre-runner feature this month comes from our ongoing relationship with the Terra Crew, which led us to Kevin Callaway's '93 Dodge D250. It's not your typical pre-runner and that's what makes it so unique. I encourage our readers to look at the function and some of the details of this truck that makes it feature worthy. At any SCORE race, look up and you'll see helicopters flying ahead of a moto racer or a SCORE Trophy Truck. We looked behind the scenes at how helicopters have been important to SCORE racing from the beginning, and how they are used now for safety and emergency medical aid, as well as keeping eyes on the course and racer communication. Finally, we take a deep dive into the world of carbon fiber. It's in racing helmets, truck fenders, dash panels, and more. There's an interesting science to this material that makes it's use in off-road racing more essential than simply a way to save weight.
