PullUSA: What's the best part of competing with your team? Kolten Kidd: The best part of competing with my team is how we are all very supportive of each other. We try to build each other up, which is what I believe helps us do so well. PullUSA: How did you first get involved in clay target shooting and why have you stuck with the sport? Kidd: I first got involved when I was 11, my grandpa asked me if I wanted to go try trap shooting. I tried it and loved it. I've done it ever since, gradually getting better and better. PullUSA: Who's been your biggest influence in the sport and how have they impacted your clay target journey? Kidd: My dad is my biggest role model. He always encourages and helps me do my best, and ensures that I have everything I need to succeed. PullUSA: What was your experience at Nationals like? Kidd: Nationals was an overall great experience, there were a lot of people there. The most memorable part of Nationals for me was the shoot-off—it was high stakes and very nerve-racking. PullUSA: What's the best advice you've received on the line? Kidd: The best advice I have received was if I missed one, to keep my head down and let that bird go. Once it's gone, you can't get it back—don't let that bird distract your focus. Each issue of PullUSA features different high school clay target athletes exhibiting exceptional character and passion for the sport and their communities. ✪ 12 PULLUSA MAGAZINE FALL 2026 THE LEAD ON T HE L INE ON THE LINE, KOLTEN KIDD FOCUSES ON ONE TARGET AT A TIME.
