For athletes, the benefits of clay target shooting in college are endless. Joining a collegiate clay target program is a great way to take a break from your course load and stay active and focused. Many colleges even offer scholarships at varying levels, providing financial support to clay target athletes as they pursue their education. "Shooting scholarships are a fun way to get college paid for while gaining real world experience," said Southeastern Illinois College Coach Jordan Hammersley. "Being part of a team assists in building bridges into the future. I recommend any interested party to reach out early, as spots are filled quickly." For many athletes, the best part of competing in college is just being a part of a team. Strong bonds and friendships are formed on the line, and those connections oen extend well beyond the range. "Joining a team will help develop a sense of community and belonging on campus, will help build friendships and is something you can continue to do for a lifetime aer graduation," said Pine Technical & Community College Coach Christopher Keeler. "As both a high school and college coach, I see the benefits of participating in clay target shooting sports and how it helps student athletes in attaining career goals." We know that clay target shooting is a lifelong sport, so why not continue the journey in college? Take a look at just a few of the many colleges and universities across the country with flourishing clay target programs.
