Better Effort In East Lansing
Boilermakers shut out for fourth time this century

Danny Etling did a better job
of getting away from pressure,
cutting his sack yardage nearly
in half from the week before.
Still, he was sacked five times,
the same number as the week
earlier against Nebraska.
Against a relatively strong south wind,
sophomore kicker Paul Griggs was unable
to convert from 51 yards just four seconds
before halftime. On Purdue's first possession of the second half, he also missed a
41-yarder.
Iowa has pink locker rooms, but Michigan
State offers its own attempt to throw
off opponents with a smiley face on the
wall above the visitors' locker room. Here,
the Purdue coaches gather just before
halftime.
The Boilermakers' most productive play from scrimmage was this 43-yard pass to running back Akeem
Hunt on Purdue's first series of the second half. The play got Purdue into Michigan State territory, but
the Boilermakers failed to get into the red zone for the second week in a row.
