Defensive End
1. Greg Latta 91
Defensive Tackle
1. Ryan Isaac 61
6-5, 260, Sr.
31 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 sack, 2 PBU, 1 FF*
Latta played his best game in weeks, probably
months, against the Illini, picking up his first
sack of the season. But it was another QB pressure that led to a turnover, when he hit Nathan
Scheelhaase forcing an interception.
6-4, 292, Sr.
17 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 int.*
Purdue used more of a four-man front against
Illinois, with Bruce Gaston getting snaps back
on the inside. And Isaac's snaps have decreased
in recent weeks, partly due to injury and partly
because the Boilermakers have gone with younger players like
Howard and Michael Rouse III.
2. Evan Panfil 95
2. Ra'Zahn Howard 93
6-4, 240, Fr.
Jack
1. Ryan Russell 99
6-5, 270, Jr.
29 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 2 sacks*
After being ill most of the
week, and not practicing much,
Russell's snaps were way down.
And he played some of the line
of scrimmage, too. With him
not at full speed, and Phillips out, Purdue felt
limited in its Jack package.
2. Collin Link 40
6-2, 210, Jr.
Free Safety
1. Taylor Richards 4
5-10, 192, Jr.
56 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 int., 2 PBU,
1 FR, 1 FF*
Richards took advantage of
Scheelhaase's high throw for
an interception, his first of the
season. But on the QB's 30-yard touchdown
pass to Steve Hull, Richards bit on the hitch
in the route, allowing an opening. He had a
couple tackles.
2. Anthony Brown 9
5-11, 192, So.
6-3, 240, Jr.
39 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 PBU*
Robinson missed the Illinois
game after suffering a concussion vs. Penn State but has
been cleared to play in the
finale against the Hoosiers.
But in his absence, Ibarra appeared to play an
excellent game vs. Illinois; he had four tackles,
two for loss with a sack.
2. Ruben Ibarra 6
6-2, 310, Sr.
44 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 3 sacks, 1 FR*
Gaston had a better performance. That he was
playing defensive tackle, rather than on the
end, was probably a major reason why. The
senior had five tackles and recovered a fumble
when Ricardo Allen stripped the ball away near the sideline.
2. Jake Replogle 54
6-4, 240, Fr.
6-3, 315, Fr.
Middle Linebacker
1. Sean Robinson 10
Defensive End
1. Bruce Gaston Jr. 90
Weakside Linebacker
1. Will Lucas 45
5-11, 236, Sr.
31 tackles, 2 TFL, 3 PBU, 1 FR*
Listed as the starter on the
released depth chart, Gilliam
played only a handful of snaps,
with Lucas instead getting a
majority of the playing time.
And Lucas, whose career has been so up and
down, might be swinging up. He had a gamehigh tying eight tackles and appeared to be
making plays all over the yard.
6-1, 234, Sr.
2. Joe Gilliam 39
Strong Safety
1. Anthony Brown 9
Cornerback
1. Frankie Williams 24
5-11, 192, So.
66 tackles, 2 TFL, 3 PBU, 1 FF*
Brown will likely lead the
Boilermakers in tackles this
season, after moving into the
lineup following Feichter's injury earlier in the year. He's been inconsistent,
but has shown improvement as the season's
gone by.
2. Landon Feichter 44
6-0, 188, Jr.
5-9, 185, So.
57 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 int., 2 PBU*
Williams had a rough day trying
to contain Illinois' Hull. Even
when he had close coverage,
Hull seemed to be able to bring
the ball in, like he did on a deep reception to
set up an Illini touchdown.
6-0, 180, Sr.
5-9, 186, Sr.
42 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack, 4 int.,
3 PBU*
Allen's certainly left a mark
on Purdue, and did so once
again in his senior day finale.
Allen had an interception on a jump ball near
the end zone and forced a fumble when he
stripped the ball away. Too bad his efforts
weren't enough for a Purdue win.
2. Leroy Clark 3
5-10, 175, Fr.
6-1, 225, Jr.
2. Normondo Harris 1
Cornerback
1. Ricardo Allen 21
Nickel back
1. Landon Feichter 44
6-0, 188, Jr.
22 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 int., 1 PBU*
Since Feichter's been back playing again, Purdue's used him
often as the nickel back, hoping
that he can bring some physicality close to the line of scrimmage. He had
five tackles and a breakup, when he helped
to knock the ball away from Scheelhaase on a
WR pass in the end zone.
2. Antoine Lewis 26
5-10, 185, Jr.
