Smotherman got loose in the second half for this dunk,
which cut the Gophers' margin to 76-66 with 3:38 left.
Purdue would pull within four points a minute later as
the visitors rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit to
make the game interesting.
I've
got
service,
yes I do ...
Sterling Carter had a gritty performance at
Minnesota, especially during the Boilermakers'
late rally. His 10 points all came in the second
half, his first double-figure scoring output
since the win over Rider on Nov. 17.
Errick Peck's basket with 4:52 left in the first half
cut the Gophers' lead to 29-25. He came off the
bench to score four points in 17 minutes as the
Boilermaker bench outscore the Gophers' reserves
30-20 in the contest.
