Time Running Out for CITs to Recertify in 2014 Individuals who have been awarded the Certified Ice Technician (CIT) professional designation by STAR are required to recertify every five years from the year their CIT was originally achieved. Individuals who were awarded their CIT in the years 2003-2009 and have not already successfully completed the CIT Recertification course or passed the CIT recertification exam will be required to do so before the end of 2014 in order to maintain their CIT professional designation. The CIT Recertification exam will be offered at the final three STAR Regional Training Program locations held in September and October.
