BURNETT'S COMEBACK
IN UTV
UTV competitors found the course
no different than what they usually
expect after the Trophy Trucks and Class
1 vehicles tear it up. Nevertheless, the
competition was fierce with close points
races for a championship hanging in the
balance. At the end of the two rounds
of competition on race day, it was clear
that Marc Burnett was determined to
make 2016 his comeback year and
managed to win the Fuel Injected class.
"We took it easy to take care of the tires,"
said Burnett. "We had a flawless day but
we were starting to run out of gas near
the end of the race." After winning the
SCORE San Felipe 250 and a sixth place
finish at the SCORE Baja 500, this win in
Rosarito Beach gives Burnett a significant
lead heading into the SCORE Baja 1000.
In the Naturally Aspirated class, Greg
Row in the number 1901 UTV was
challenged by six other competitors
but also managed to drive to victory
in Rosarito Beach. "The Trophy
Trucks tore up the course and it
was so much chunkier," said Row.
"I took it easy on the first lap and lit
the wick to it at the very end."
