Chinese hotel group sinks roots on island near Hong Kong BEIJING – China’s hotel management company, Ahn Luh, inked a deal to manage a 100- room island hotel located on Xunliao Bay, near Shenzhen. This will be its second property, after its successful launch of Ahn Luh Dujiangyan in Chengdu. The new Ahn Luh brand is the brainchild of Adrian Zecha, co-founder of GHM Holdings and two leading Chinese tourism companies. Slated to open in 2016, the hotel is located on Delta Island and is owned by the Huidong County Daya Bay Delta Island Club. Renowned for its clear waters, white sand and remarkable rock formations, Delta Island is 2.5 hours’ drive from Shenzhen. It will be home to Anh Luh’s first beach resort and will stand as the second property in the hotel group’s fledgling portfolio. In May, the group announced plans for its first property, Ahn Luh Dujiangyan, a boutique hotel to be located near UNESCO World Heritage assets in Sichuan province. The hotel itself is 20,000 square meters in area, and will feature distinctive Chinese design with a service culture true to the Chinese roots, amidst today’s modern influences. All day dining offering Chinese cuisine, a beach bar, a tai chi centre with a resident tai chi master, an Ahn Luh spa and an Ahn Luh Library are amongst those in the pipeline.
