FOR ANYONE FOLLOWING HOCKEY, it's no longer a well-kept secret that participation in the sport is growing in the St. Louis area. The homegrown development of NHL young guns like Clayton Keller and Lue Kunin means more and more locals are hungry for ice. Thankfully, their wish for more ice time has come in the form of Centene Community Ice Center. This new facility in Maryland Heights, a suburb just outside of St. Louis, is ready to host hockey players who are just starting out, all the way up to the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues who use Centene as a practice facility. Building the Dream As a hockey coach and chairman of the St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation, Patrick Quinn was definitely aware of the participation boom.
