FOR ANYONE FOLLOWING
HOCKEY,
it's no longer a well-kept
secret that participation in the sport is
growing in the St. Louis area.
The homegrown development of NHL
young guns like Clayton Keller and Lue
Kunin means more and more locals are
hungry for ice.
Thankfully, their wish for more
ice time has come in the form of
Centene Community Ice Center. This
new facility in Maryland Heights, a
suburb just outside of St. Louis, is
ready to host hockey players who are
just starting out, all the way up to
the defending Stanley Cup Champion
St. Louis Blues who use Centene as a
practice facility.
Building the Dream
As a hockey coach and chairman of
the St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation,
Patrick Quinn was definitely aware of
the participation boom. He also saw the
limited availability of ice time for many
of the teams in the area.
