UPS all in for natural gas D avid Abney, chief operating officer for UPS, went all in on natural gas while speaking at the ACT Expo in Washington D.C. Abney said UPS's commitment to natural gas vehicles has come an unprecedented full circle in the company's fleet buying cycle. "For 2014, every tractor in the U.S. for our small package business will be natural gas," he said. "It may be CNG or LNG, but it will be natural gas. We've never been able to say that before." Abney said that on the heels of a multibillion-dollar investment, UPS has emerged as a leader in putting natural gas on America's roads, noting that his company has invested more than $250 million since 2007 to deploy 2,700 natural gas vehicles around the world. Abney expects UPS to reach 500 million green miles in 2015 and one billion green miles by the end of 2017. – Jason Cannon HEAVYDUTYRADIATOR.COM ce 1 9 3 6 Sin Am facturin nu a g eric an M UPS has invested more than $250 million since 2007 to deploy 2,700 natural gas vehicles worldwide. 800-525-0011 Monday - Friday: 8:00 aM - 6:00 pM saturday: 8:00 aM - 12:00 pM est est OEM Quality at Aftermarket Prices OE Optimized Plastic / Aluminum Radiator Replacements Applicable Vehicles • Freightliner • International • Mack • Peterbilt • Volvo • Kenworth • EXTRA THICK ALUMINUM HEAVY DUTY HEADER • HEAVY GAUGE TUBE WALL THICKNESS UP TO 62% COST SAVINGS AND DOUBLE THE WARRANTY vs OEM LOCATIONS Michigan • Alabama • Colorado • Florida • Missouri • Pennsylvania • Utah 38 commercial carrier journal Untitled-5 1 CCJ0813_EquipDept.indd 38 • HIGH GRADE GLASS FIBER POLYAMIDE RESIN PLASTIC TANK | august 2013 • AVAILABLE WITHOUT FRAMEWORK UPON REQUEST Installation available in Michigan Text INFO to 205-289-3554 or visit www.ccjdigital.com/info 7/2/13 9:36 AM 7/24/13 2:40 PM
