SCORE Prepares For Inaugural 500 Mile Race
Entries are now open for the Inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500, which takes place April 15th through the 19th. The race is open to Pro classes of Trucks, Buggies, and UTVs, as well as Pro Moto and Pro Quad classes, and Sportsman Moto and Quad classes. “Many teams are already preparing for this inaugural race, which can be a big factor if they are looking to earn points for a 2015 championship,” says SCORE CEO, Roger Norman.
The race begins Saturday April 18th at the Yenecamu Fields Cabo San Lucas wash. It ends at the San Thelmo Wash in Loreto. SCORE and Mexican officials have been working together to make this inaugural race safe and enjoyable for race teams and fans. In addition to Federal and Local Municipalities ensuring the safety of the event, residents and business are looking forward to SCORE fans, teams and racers coming to enjoy the race, as well as pre and post festivities.
SCORE will begin celebrating the Inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 Wednesday night April 15, with the official Monster Energy event taking place at the Office at the Beach at the Playa El Medano 8pm to 11pm and the Bud Light Kick-Off Party on April 16th, at Casa Dorada from7pm to midnight.
One of the highlights of the race will be Contingency Row, that begins Friday April 17th at 10 am at Yenecamu Fields. SSponsor and Vendor booths will line contingency row while the teams and their vehicles pass through. For spectators and race fans, this is one of the most exciting times, as they get an opportunity to meet with teams, drivers and icons of SCORE International desert racing. Crowds gather swag and autographs from their favorite drivers who are always present to meet with fans.
The Inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 race will end at the Malecon in Loreto. Official race results will be posted Sunday April 19th, followed by the awards celebration on the main boardwalk in Loreto. SCORE TECH INSPECTIONS
FOR BAJA SUR 500
Score Tech Inspectors will be in Cabo San Lucas for the following: Vehicle Chassis Tagging - Monday-Thursday April 13-16. Required for all race vehicles that have not been SCORE certified in past 12 months. There is a fee for chassis tagging or re-certification.
Pre-Race Tech Inspections - Save time - Have your vehicle pre-inspected during Chassis Tagging Days. Then on Friday. April 17, (tech day) you will only have to go through Contingency Row and then quickly receive your race day vehicle sticker in the tech area.
