I have a pretty strong workout schedule with my trainer." And also with rival Gahanna (Ohio) High's Nick Ward, a future Michigan State Spartan. The two get together be- fore school, lift after school and work out again later in the day in prepara- tion for Big Ten ball. They're good friends but will soon be rivals again — a fact not lost on either of them. The banter hasn't stopped since the two pledged to their respective schools. "It's an everyday thing," Watson said with a laugh. "We can't go a day without talking about who is going to win next year, who will start, all that. We're just playing, but I do hope to be able to impact the team and help us win a championship. That's the main goal." Though still lanky, Watson is start- ing to add some bulk to his frame and on his shot. He made 2 of 6 three-point attempts in the all-star game and he's working on his point of release, one that needs to be higher. He started the game with a triple from the top right that was pure, but he missed four straight before hitting one from the same spot later in the game. The rapport he's built with his future Wolverine teammates, meanwhile, is undeniable. The three of them played together in the April Ohio-Kentucky All-Star game, a two-point win for the Buckeyes, and enjoyed some banter
