Building the Dream Catching up with the EIHBA The Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association (EIHBA) is a non-profit associa- tion founded and chartered by the National Association of Home Builders. It was formed in 1974 to help promote the dream of home ownership in our community. Our mission is to provide members and the com- munity with services that help the develop- ment of the Building Industry as a whole. We have members that are builders/devel- opers and associates. Associates include: subcontractors, suppliers, service providers (banks, title companies, realtors, etc). The EIHBA is a self-regulatory organization, a watchdog advocated for the building industry that provides a line of communica- Best of Show and Builders Choice Award Category 1: Destination Homes Category 2: Wind River Homes & Design Category 3: Harker Homes People’s Choice Award: Crystal Homes 34 | EAST IDAHO HOME & GARDEN 2010 tion for its members and the community. The EIHBA strives to work in partnership with the surrounding cities and counties, creating a community we can be proud to call home. The association believes that home ownership can and should be within the reach of every American Family; as a matter of fact that is the first line in their code of ethics. American homes should be well-designed, well-constructed and well- located in attractive communities and with educational, recreational and religious and shopping facilities accessible to all. The biggest community event that the EIHBA holds every year is the annual Parade of Homes. These beautiful homes bring you imaginative designs, superb craftsmanship and exclusive custom features with the latest innovative tech- nologies. Each year the number of homes entered in the Parade range from 10 to 25, but you can always be assured that no mat- ter the number the entries they will always bring a unique look into the building indus- try and showcase some of the best builders in the area. The Parade of homes has been bringing you homes for over 15 years. In 2009, the Association showcased 12 spectacular homes in all price categories. These were some of top awards that were given to the builders for their outstanding work in their price category. In 2009 the Association also featured a Habitat for Humanity home in the parade in hopes of bringing more awareness to this great cause. For more information on the association call 552-0732 or visit eihba.org. The 2010 Parade of homes is set for Sept. 16–19. —T.
