Arena Warehouse aided in successful Hockey Day 2019 , It was another successful Hockey Day Minnesota this past January to the delight of Arena Warehouse staff. With the help of ice experts from all over the country, the team pulled off a week's worth of outdoor events including the first ever Division I regular season conference game, five high school games, and many more youth games throughout the week. Arena Warehouse supplied the boards, scoreboard, refrigeration system and ice mats, ice edger, Zamboni, paint, lines, and logos. Not only did Arena Warehouse supply all of this, they also installed and ran the entire ice operations for the duration of the event. On Hockey Day Minnesota 2019 the temperature was 28 degrees below zero. "Our team was second to none. Without these guys, their knowledge, commitment, and amazing work ethic I honestly don't think this event would have happened with the conditions we were forced to deal with," said Arena Warehouse owner, Jeff Horstman. "You can't call a colleague and ask them what they did when it was minus 25 degrees for a college hockey game, it's never been done!" J PHOTOS: USA HOCKEY MAGAZINE ARCHIVES, CANLAN ICE SPORTS, JOE JOHNSON EQUIPMENT RINK RANGERS by Mike Curti Facility energy conservation for your arena , There are many factors that contribute to operating an energy efficient arena—from mechanical systems to architecture. Arenas typically have an energy use of around 1,500,000 kWh/year, the most efficient arenas use about 800,000 kWh/year, and the least efficient arenas can consume 2,400,000 kWh/year. This wide range highlights the savings opportunities. Managers should look for equipment like Joe Johnson Equipment's De-OX Ice Making System that produces clear, resilient ice and reduces compressor run hours; facilities can reduce operational expenses even further with the Engo Wolf zero emission electric ice resurfacer.
