® 10 END OF YEAR REPORT 2024 Approved for distribution outside of the LoRa Alliance ® ® CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE The year 2024 was a very active one for the Certification Com- mittee, with several major initiatives on our plate to enhance the LoRaWAN ® certification program and continue to bring value to our members. The LoRaWAN Certification Test Tool (LCTT) con- tinues to evolve with the addition of testing for Relay and FUOTA to the tool. We are looking forward to an updated user interface in Q1 2025, all of which is provided free to our members. In the summer, we launched the LoRaWAN Web Certification System (LWCS) which brings several benefits to our members and the Alliance. LWCS allows us to process a device through each step of the certification process and gives us the ability to manage LCTT licenses more effectively while providing our members with the ability to use their LCTT licenses on different PCs. In October, the Certification Committee launched the self-test program which allows members to test their own end devices and submit them for certification directly in the LWCS. Although new, this program is already increasing the number of LoRaWAN certified products by members who have not previously certified a LoRaWAN device. We expect this program to continue to increase the number of certified devices as it evolves. The Certification Committee continuously monitors metrics associated with LoRaWAN CertifiedCM devices and we are pleased to see that our members are adopting LoRaWAN Link Layer version 1.0.4 (TS001-1.0.4) taking advantage of the performance and security features it offers. We are pleased to announce the Interoperability Work Group finished the year by publishing the initial version of our interoperability test plan supporting network servers and end devices. The next step is to develop and leverage an interoperability testbed to expand the testing criteria and support in-person and virtual plug-fests in 2025.
