ALOUDER APPROACH Trinity Racing Stage 5 Racing Exhaust Installation BY SCORE Journal Staff PHOTOS COURTESY: trinity racinG With the amount of forced-induction UTVs available, it quickly becomes evident that turbos get hot and with that, performance can suffer. One of the easiest ways to improve turbo-powered UTVs is with a high-flow exhaust system. Trinity Racing is one of many aftermarket UTV exhaust manufacturers who make a wide variety of performance products that are simple to install, improve exhaust flow that can reduce temperatures, and makes your UTV sound great. When upgrading to a higher-flow exhaust, Trinity Racing requires that additional adjustments to the OEM fuel settings, as jetting changes or installation of an additional EFI programmer, are required. The company demonstrated how to install one of its Stage 5 racing exhaust systems for the Polaris RZR turbo models. The system includes a 304 stainless steel mid and head pipe and dual aluminum mufflers that come in a brushed, black, or Cerakote black finish. The system is fully TIG welded and includes hardware and brackets to easily replace the factory exhaust. While Trinity offered to showcase a typical installation, it’s important to read the instructions included with the system. SJ Trinity Racing trinityracing.com 714 988-0339 info@trinityracing.com 1 Trinity began by removing the plastic paneling over the factory exhaust. 2 Reaching into the engine compartment, unbolt the tubing from the turbo exhaust side 3 Unbolt the muffler tube from the turbo silencer tube and remove it 4 Remove the muffler brackets and heat shield 5 Carefully unplug and remove the oxygen sensor, then pull out the turbo tube 6 Assemble the Trinity Stage 5 exhaust system according to the instructions 7 Install the Trinity Racing muffler to the brackets provided but leave loose until the final fitting 8 A new outlet flange is then bolted to the turbo with the factory heat shield 9 The Trinity exhaust pipe is then slipped into position 10 Install the Y-connector onto the pipe and connect it to the mufflers 11 Once the tubing is installed, tighten the muffler clamps 12 Reinstall the oxygen sensor and plug it back into the harness 13 Attach all of the pipe springs along the system 14 Once the Trinity exhaust is installed you will need to make jetting changes to the fuel system or install an EFI programmer to make the proper fuel adjustments
