Founded in 1997, the SXSW Intearctive Awards was initially known as the SXSW Web Awards. We love creation at SXSW Interactive and our SXSW Interactive Awards competition honors just that. These projects were created by the Interactive community and push the boundaries of what's possible in digital content to inspire the next wave of creativity. Beginning last August, hundreds of digital creators from the Interactive community entered their latest work in the SXSW Interactive Awards competition. Everything submitted, with the exception of the work in entered in the "Classic" category, was launched or completely re-designed in 2013. The Categories The categories for the 2014 SXSW Interactive Awards include Activism, Amusement, Art, Business, Classic, Community, Educational Resource, Experimental, Film/TV, Motion Graphics, Music, Personal, Social Media, Student, and Technical Achievement. 17 th Annual SXSW Interactive Awards Ceremony PRESENTED BY INNOCEAN Tuesday March 11, 2014 • Pre-Party at 6:00PM • Ceremony at 7:00PM Hilton Austin Downtown, Level 6 • Grand Ballrooom and Pre-function Area The key to throwing a good awards ceremony is having a top-notch emcee.
