Expanding Into New Business So with a successful engine and drivetrain business, Kroyer is looking to expand his business into yet another direction. The need for reliable components, large and small, have over the years necessitated Kroyer and his team to manufacture certain components. Everything from throttle body center sections, billet coil brackets, timing chain covers and more have steered Kroyer into considering more manufacturing. “While on one hand we build an engine and drivetrain package for a team that we’re tied to forever, we can also manufacture a product like a timing chain cover, that we can send off and forget about,” he says. “This is probably an area that we’re going to open up to more in the near future. We already have several companies asking us to make pieces for them and it’s looking to be a successful side of the business for us.” In the meantime, Kroyer remains focused on building winning engines, and enjoys working with many different teams, even though some may be a little more fickle than others. “I got a laugh reading the last issue of SCORE Journal, where Steven Eugenio commented about needing more power. So he’s now with another engine builder but there’s only so many of us around,” says Kroyer. “That’s another aspect of the racing game that never goes away, but you have to keep your chin up and not take things personally. It’s all part of the recipe for success in this business.” SJ
