Entering into this SCORE Baja
500 race, MacCachren has all
the confidence that he and the
Rockstar Energy team will do
well. Of course, one can never
tell until the race is completed,
and MacCachren knows that the
SCORE Baja 500 is one of those
iconic races that many drivers
want to win more than any other.
For MacCachren and many other
racers, the Baja 500 and Baja
1000 provide some of his best
memories and experiences in
SCORE racing. "My first trip was
in '83 or '84," he says. Since then
I've gone to every Baja 500 and
1000 and raced in almost every
one of them. Just the enjoyment
of racing in Baja is a thrill. My
fondest memory is winning my
first Baja 1000 in 2007 with Mark
Post and Carl Renezeder. The
feeling I had then made that the
most memorable SCORE victory
ever. Winning the Baja 500 or the
Baja 1000 overall is so incredible
that a driver never forgets. Even
last year winning the Baja 1000
with Jason and Andy was just as
memorable as my first.
At the time of this writing, the
Unlimited Trophy Truck class has
a total of 28 entries for the 47th
Annual Bud Light SCORE Baja
500. MacCachren and his team
might need to qualify at the front
of the pack to pull off a victory
here, but his experience and
reliance on a well-tuned team,
gives MacCachren a great chance
to pull off another memorable
