"Dougan's expectations for his
workers made me feel like I
wanted to constantly do better
under his watch," said Fields.
With that philosophy in mind,
Fields worked under Dougan
for three decades, until 1988,
when Dougan passed away
from cancer. "After managing
the business for five years after
Terry passed away, the business
grew. Finally in 2003, my wife
Stefanie and I were able to
purchase the business," said
Fields. "Keeping Terry's name
was important to me. I felt the
reputation and the shop should
keep the name going. Terry's
strengths were mechanical.
