organizational skills, people skills, constant development." That development led to building their first Trophy Truck engine in 2005, and slowly grew to culminate in the company's achievement as the top SCORE engine builder ten years later. "We have many people that have worked here 15 to 25 years, so they are also veterans of the sport," says Fields. "The information we get from teams starts at the top, and the info travels down through the network of our employees. We have a meeting of the week's work, go over any technical questions and challenges, scheduling, and finally completion of the projects. Communication is key to everyone doing their job." For 2016, Fields believes it's going to be even harder to stay on top. "Teams are always looking for more reliable horsepower, and it takes the time and tuning to make that slow growth towards that goal," says Fields. "For example, if you take our existing engine package from two years ago, and match it up to the same engine packages that we are building today, you'll find that we're up 30-50 horsepower." Aside from perfecting his engine combinations, Fields is also committed to a healthier approach for himself in the coming year. "I began to exercise and ride road bikes five to six days a week now," says Fields. "I want to be around my family and our business for a long time. Being in better shape also helps me to attack the challenges for 2016. The racing industry is demanding and we're going to work harder physically and as a team, to stay on top!" SJ DOUGAN'S TROPHY TRUCK ENGINES EARNED THREE FIRST PLACE FINISHES AND FINISHED IN THE TOP FOUR AT EVERY SCORE RACE DURING THE 2015 SEASON. 075 SCORE JOURNAL
