WHERE ARE THEY NOW? formula to continue, and I won every NCAAs I was at. "While you're in it, sometimes it's easy to just be locked in on every practice and every single thing you have to do that day to make yourself the best, and you don't really appre‑ ciate the accom‑ plishment when you're looking at what's next. "But now, al‑ m o s t 1 0 y e a r s out of college, I'm looking back and I see what my sister is do‑ ing, and I see the great runners in the NCAA, and I have a greater appreciation for what I did. "I'll be sure to s h o w m y k i d s someday mommy was a pretty good athlete in college because I'm sure they won't be‑ lieve me." While dominat‑ ing at NCAAs, Ofili‑Porter was pre‑ paring to earn entrance to Michigan's prestigious College of Pharmacy. She graduated from the college in 2012 and picks up a few shifts at a CVS near her home in Canton, Mich., when not training for international competition. "Track is such a short window in your life," she said. "Don't get me wrong, I love what I'm doing, sur‑ rounded by some really cool people, and I'm pushing my body to limits you never thought possible, but long term, the impact I want to make on the world … pharmacy gives me a better chance to do that." F o r n o w , t h o u g h , O f i l i ‑ Porter is focused on training for t h e O l y m p i c Games this sum‑ mer. She qualified for Great Britain in 2012, compet‑ ing at the London Olympics. After placing fifth in the 100‑meter hurdles at the 2015 World Championships and third in the 60‑meter hurdles at the 2016 World Indoor Champi‑ onships, she be‑ lieves she could medal in Rio. "I try not to get ahead of myself because what I'm doing now in April and then in May and June prepares me for that mo‑ ment, but to be honest, no athlete goes into a meet — at least I don't — thinking they will lose, so the goal is always to come in first place and win that gold medal," Ofili‑Porter said. "If I'm fit and healthy, I'm pretty con‑ fident that I can compete for that." Ofili‑Porter 's mother was born in Ofili-Porter — pictured here with her hus- band, Jeff Porter — will be looking to com- pete for Great Britain, where her mother was born, at her second Olympic Games this summer.
