Knorr-Bremse – the parent company of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems – plans to bundle its joint global trailer business under the Haldex roof. • Kenworth launched its Certified Pre-Owned Program for customers purchasing used Class 8 trucks in the United States and Canada from Kenworth dealers and Paccar Financial Used Truck Centers. Qualifying Kenworth trucks are late model and low mileage and will come standard with engine and aftertreatment warranty coverage. • Detroit announced the availability of a pro- prietary rear-mounted power take-off option for its direct-drive and overdrive Detroit DT12 automated manual transmissions on original Freightliner Cascadia models, with or without the Evolution aerodynamic package, and Western Star 5700XE models. • Cummins Inc. now offers a three-year unlim- ited-mile base warranty for 2017 B6.7 engines in on-highway trucks in North America. Cus- tomers also can obtain the same durations of extended coverages for the engine and after- treatment system of either up to seven years or up to 300,000 miles at a lower cost, with year three now covered by Cummins. Also, towing or travel coverage has been expanded from one to three years. • SelecTrucks reintroduced its manufactur- er-backed fair-market-value leasing program, SelectLease, providing fleets with flexible monthly payments, zero to low down-pay- ment options, flexible lease terms ranging from 24 to 36 months, reduced risk and a 60- Day Buyer's Assurance at no extra cost. • Wabash National Corp. announced a com- mitment from Leonard's Express (CCJ Top 250, No. 205) to join Werner Enterprises (No. 11), K&B Transportation (No. 146) and Combined Transport (No. 173) in the launch program for its Cold Chain Series refrigerated van trailer made with molded structural composites. • Western Star's factory-installed Phantom 2 Graphics package for personalizing the 5700XE tractor features new, modular components for more customization options. The package is available in matte, carbon fiber and brushed aluminum. The components can be spec'd as separate pieces for the hood, intake, side, fend- ers and visor or as one complete package. • Mack's LR refuse model now includes the company's integrated telematics solution, GuardDog Connect, a proactive diagnostics and repair planning system that monitors fault codes to schedule preemptive preventive maintenance. LR customers will have access to Mack's suite of fleet management services, including Telogis' cloud-based maintenance software and Omnitracs' telematics system. • Swift Transportation (CCJ Top 250, No. 4) is outfitting about 40 percent of its 18,000-truck fleet with FlowBelow's aerodynamic Tractor AeroKit System. The Phoenix-based com- pany first tested the system in 2014 with an initial SAE fuel efficiency test, followed by the deployment of 100 AeroKits into its fleet to further test the product's durability, ease of use and real-world fleet average fuel efficiency performance. • Doonan Specialized Trailer, a manufacturer of specialty platform trailers, revamped a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing plant previ- ously used to build custom trailer products to create a high-efficiency volume-build flatbed trailer plant. Doonan still will build custom trailer products in its separate main factory. INBRIEF
