32 commercial carrier journal | january 2017 technology McLeod updates LoadMaster, PowerBroker M cLeod Soware released Version 16.2 of its flagship products LoadMaster Enter- prise and PowerBroker. e company said the new version includes the following additions and enhancements: • A new Carrier Scorecard module for PowerBroker with a comprehensive measurement system for evaluating carrier performance. Up to 14 key performance indicators can be used to identify, score and rank performance. e module also has a five-star system to identify the top- and bottom-scoring carriers. • e automated McLeod Logix Solutions Automated Collections module helps carriers and brokers reduce days sales outstanding and improve cash flow. e module drives the appropriate activity for collections by organizing communications with the customer based on a defined schedule and the age of delinquent accounts. • An expansion of McLeod IQ business intelligence. e product's analysis frame- work includes more data elements and dimensions, including customer relationship management, load claims, accidents, fuel consumption/costs and payroll expenses. • Enhancements to integrations with MacroPoint to allow brokers to track the outside carrier by electronic logging device and/or GPS; and Spireon to include more elements that capture temperature sensor readings within trailers. McLeod also announced that Trucker Tools, provider of a smartphone app for driv- ers with a built-in Load Track connectivity platform, now is integrated with Power- Broker, bringing end-to-end automation to the shipment lifecycle for freight brokers. Load Track delivers continuous GPS locations while a shipment is in transit, instant driver messaging, arrival and departure notifications, near-real-time estimated time of arrival and more functionality to PowerBroker's user interface and workflows. – Aaron Huff • Omnitracs, a provider of fleet manage- ment solutions, and Noregon, a provider of heavy-duty vehicle diagnostics and repair solutions, announced a strategic partnership to integrate Noregon's TripVi- sion into Omnitracs' telematics platform to provide customers with real-time insight into vehicle health and safety and allow them to make accurate time-critical decisions that optimize performance and increase vehicle uptime. • AssetWorks, a provider of fleet manage - ment software, released Driver Coaching as part of its Field Service Solutions product line. Driver Coaching is designed to provide real-time notifications to the driver to help correct undesired behaviors such as harsh braking and acceleration, idling and speeding. Fleets can configure the parameters, and the in-cab device emits audible tones to the driver, making him aware immediately that he is either about to be or is in violation of company rules. When he stops, the violation details are displayed on the in-cab device. • CarriersEdge, a provider of interactive online training and compliance tools, released a three-module suite of Driver Wellness courses – Fatigue, Diet and Ex - ercise, Illness and Injury – designed to be used either as an extension to an existing wellness program or as a starting point to educate drivers. The company also an- nounced that Stevensville, Ontario-based Zavcor Trucking, a 60-truck cross-border refrigerated and dry freight carrier, selected its safety platform to improve fuel efficiency and reduce accident frequency and violation and management costs • MacroPoint, creator of a multimodal freight tracking network designed to provide shippers, logistics service provid- ers and carriers with real-time visibility into load status, received a $44 million investment from Susquehanna Growth Equity. MacroPoint also announced that 10-4 Systems, a provider of end-to-end shipment visibility, licensed its technology to enhance service for shipper and carrier customers for both companies. • Quality Companies – a provider of fleet leasing and sales, tax and accounting, driver recruiting, mobile maintenance and INBRIEF Barton Logistics uses the integrated Load Track platform to streamline its freight matching and tracking process. TMW debuts e-doc exchange for energy firms T MW Systems introduced a cloud-based electronic document exchange and transaction platform designed to provide seamless access for energy and petro- leum operators. e solution, TMW Cashlink powered by Amalto, now is available for transportation businesses that use TMWSuite soware. Amalto is a provider of order-to-cash process solutions. e TMW Cashlink solution provides access to the more than 70 energy and pe- troleum customers – including those served by payment hubs such as Actian, Cortex, Oildex Open Invoice and others – that accept electronic purchase orders, delivery tickets, field tickets and invoices. By implementing electronic document exchange and processing, transportation businesses can reduce days sales outstanding, cut back-office labor requirements and eliminate errors associated with manual rekeying of information. e solution also is designed to manage an array of administrative activities, includ- ing customer onboarding, and offer audit features, transaction monitoring, exception reporting and automated reprocessing. – Aaron Huff
