Birmingham based Mist drops an ambitious EP, following up the success of his debut tape M I S To The T, another accomplished project. London-based rapper Margs is back with his new single 'Nah Bad'. A strong follow up to his debut release on the label, What Have You Done, 'Nah Bad' serves as an aural embodiment of his energetic and emotive bars. Following the release of their acclaimed fourth & fifth mixtapes 7 Days and 7 Nights, the rap duo will perform an exclusive show at the Forum on the 22nd of March. Hailing from Hackney, east London, Margs is no novice in the UK hip-hop scene. The energetic rapper originally shot to prominence in 2002 and has steadily built a solid following in the underground rap forum over the past 15 years. Renowned for his often hardcore street content, Margs' powerful grime-based beats have firmly positioned the artist with a seat amongst the greats in the UK urban scene, with the godfather of grime, Wiley, snapping him up for his label Chase The Art (CTA) Records. Since their breakthrough album in 2015, The Long Way Home, the pair have become British hip hop royalty. They have since worked with several big names from Skepta, Stormzy, Giggs, Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa. Still on the cusp of their careers Krept and Konan keep on relentlessly delivering legendary records, one after the other, so make sure to catch the duo live and experience a night that you will be talking about for years to come. TRACK OF THE MONTH: MARGS EVENT PREVIEW: RAP'S FAVOURITE DUO, KREPT & KONAN ANNOUNCE 2018 LONDON SHOW! This all knits together perfectly on 'Display Skills' featuring Mr Eazi & Fekky, neither of whom have collaborated with Mist before. The presence of Mr Eazi is especially surprising, pleasantly so, he delivers a chorus drenched in afrobeats flavour. It's not a genre Mist has explored much, but he confidently delivers a smooth verse that works perfectly with the silky beat. There is also a noteworthy collaboration with Jessie Ware, again the unlikely combination works, with Ware's vocals complimenting the rugged Mist verses over a mournful instrumental. The best collaboration is arguably with long-time friend MoStack, the pair have numerous tracks together, consistently brilliant, and 'Uber' is no different, the two rappers going toe-to-toe discussing women and fame. Overall this a record that sticks true to Mist's roots yet explores new avenues, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his next move.
