Jan. 15, 2000 • In what would be the first of four head-to-head contests in the same season, something that hasn't happened before or since in Boilermaker basketball history, Purdue defeats Wisconsin 63-52 in Mackey Arena. Brian Cardinal matched a career-high with five three pointers and scored 26 points. The Badgers, however, won the final three matchups in the season, including an Elite Eight win in Albuquerque. Jan. 14, 2004 • Gene Keady records his 500th victory at Purdue with a 53-51 win over No. 19 Wisconsin. Badgers' leading scorer Devin Harris had a last-second three-point attempt that just missed, which would have put a wet blanket on Purdue's celebration. Austin Parkinson hit 5-of-6 free throws at crunch time to help make the difference. "Purdue did a great job. They played hard, they played together and I want to try to get my team to do the same thing."
