July 2019 DINING GUIDE s p e c i a l a d v e r t i s i n g s e c t i o n KARMA Experience authentic cuisine at Karma, where fusion flavors make every dish a delight—fusion being the key word here. Offering a large selection of Chinese and Japanese entrees, Korean selections, and high-grade sushi and sashimi, as well as delicate French-inspired sauces and techniques, the chefs at Karma deliver something altogether unique. 209 North Main Street, Andover, 978-809-3075, karmaandover.com. $$ FUGAKYU Enter this elegant restaurant and find a place where fine cuisine isn't just a business, it's a passion. FuGaKyu's extensive menu of traditional and nouveau Japanese cuisine includes sushi, sashimi, and tempura, as well as unique entrees rarely found outside of Japan. Robust sake offerings include traditionally made rice wines imported from Japan. For a truly authentic Japanese experience on the North Shore, you must check out FuGaKyu. 630 Market Street, Lynnfield, 781-334-3833, fugakyu.net. $$ Mexican MASA SOUTHWEST BAR & GRILL Tasteful, cosmopolitan, and bewitching are words that describe Masa. "Eye candy" abounds, and the décor details can't possibly be taken in with one visit. The menu showcases dishes like the Pan Seared Sea Bass with Smoked Pineapple Salsa, Roasted Salmon with Chipotle and Horseradish Crust, and Pan Roasted Zucchini Steaks with Sweet Potato Crisps (as well as a hearty list of unaged, rested, and aged tequilas), which make Masa a delightful place to experience Southwest culinary complexities. 350 Cambridge Road, Woburn, 01801, 781-938-8886, masarestaurant.com $$$ METZY'S Housed in the former abandoned Newburyport train depot, the cantina's urban industrial chic vibe is hard won. The exposed brick, soaring ceilings, and steel girders, complemented by corrugated steel framing the kitchen, lend an urban feel to the space, mixing with the same fresh, modern take on Mexican food, like the signature steak tacos, that have been a hit since owner Erik Metzdorf first opened his food truck in 2014. This brick-and-mortar outpost of the popular food truck offers the ability to ramp up many of the offerings but you can still find the food truck serving up the freshest, most flavorful food at the Plum Island Airfield and the NBPT Brewing Co. 5 Boston Way, Newburyport, 978-255-7347, metzys.com $ Italian seafood classics | Nightly specials Catch of the day from local waters Full service bar | Craft cocktails Homemade pastas, full and half portions Secondi courses featuring pesce and carne Signature dishes | Decadent desserts 2 Main Street | Gloucester, MA 01930 | 9 7 8 . 8 7 9 . 4 7 9 5 175 North Avenue | Wakefield, MA 01880 | 7 8 1 . 4 8 6 . 3 6 0 6 t o n n o r e s t a u r a n t . c o m Our Patio is Now Open! 94 Lafayeee St. Salem, Massachusees 01970 978-594-8960 | stellaswinebar.com 40+ Wines By the Glass | Parking Across the Street
