"The way people live nowadays is that we're busy and you have to have an eye on everything," says Carrie. Plus, she adds, "I love to cook and just eating together is a big part of what we do as a family, so it was important to have the kitchen as the focus of the house." After a visit to the Boston Design Center, the couple chose Jewett Farms + Co. for their kitchen overhaul. "We loved their work and we had a connection with Paula," says Carrie of Paula Accioly, Jewett's principal designer and showroom manager who worked on the project. "We had such a nice rapport with her and she understood the design of what we wanted." Though their style leans more contemporary, they were careful to adopt "a transitional lens," Carrie says, in order to achieve "something that looked modern but stayed with the traditional sense of the house."
