We’ve been having an amazing summer on tour with Kansas and Styx. We’ve been surprised at the crowds, they are pretty wild. We’re older and have families so it’s a bit more calm back stage, but onstage it’s just as wild as it ever was. the BAnd is GettinG AlonG then And there hAsn’t Been AnythinG trouBlesome hAppen? It’s been pretty smooth. The tour has been wonderful, but I still have to figure out what to do on last day of tour in terms of “last-day-of-the-tour- stunts.” oh? noW you’Ve Got to tell me one oF those stories… [Laughs] This was one of my favorites… Dokken and Aerosmith… back in 87-88 we were playing together on tour….permanent vacation… well, during the song Angel, George Lynch dressed up in an angel outfit and we rigged him from rafters… He was flying on wires 20 feet up above the stage, he flew out above Steven [Tyler] and he turned around and started laughing hysterically. Of course, Steven started serenading him and George got so into it, so into the act, he got all wound up in the wires. He spent three or four songs up there because we couldn’t get him down. Steven just started singing directly to George, of course. It was hilarious… one of the best stunts. then the locAl croWd cAn eXpect A Good shoW? You can expect a great show…the playing is great, the energy is great, and we think the audience will be great. Plus, with so many top 40 hits, creating a set list is kind of like cheating. it sounds exciting…we can’t wait to come watch you play. Be sure to come backstage afterwards and say hello. We’d be honored. shoWdoWn At the FAir The Idaho Junior rodeo association proudly presents the 2010 Top Ten Championship Showdown, slated for Thursday, Sept. 9 at 8 a.m. Admission is FREE! The sport actually originated just a stone’s throw from the fairgrounds on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation over 100 years ago. Many families that participated in the sport decades ago are still participating and passing this legacy on from generation to generation. The Indian Relay teams consist of three horses and four team members: one rider, one catcher (Mugger), and two holders. The rider must complete a lap with each horse riding bareback, and must then dismount without any help from team mates and without losing control of the horses. In addition to its following at the fair, the event has proven to be one of the big- gest attractions of the Shoshone-Bannock Festival and can only be accurately por- trayed by witnessing live and in person. For a great preview of the races and the culture behind them, check out the Shoshone- Bannock Indian Relays from Aug. 12-14 (5 p.m. each day) at the Fort hall Rodeo/Relay Grounds (Simplot Road).
